Rapid Assessment of Avoidable Blindness (RAAB)

raabRapid Assessment of Avoidable Blindness (RAAB) is a simple and rapid survey methodology that can provide data on the prevalence and causes of avoidable blindness. CSF is the only organization in Bangladesh, with experience of conducting RAAB studies. CSF pioneered the innovation and development of RAAB methodology with an International team in Bangladesh, Kenya and Philippines along with ICEH team in London. CSF research on RAAB has been published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology. Till date, CSF has conducted RAAB studies to estimate the prevalence and causes of blindness in people aged ≥50 years in 8 districts.
